Patent Portfolio

Innovations in environmental technology, fluid dynamics, and power generation.

Granted Patent#11427490· Assigned to Green Crown Water Systems LLC

Water Purification Replicating a Known Popular Source

A water replicating system comprises a water analyzer for analyzing a target water to determine relative content of selected components. The system further comprises a water treatment apparatus for receiving source water, having a treatment portion for removing unwanted components and adding missing elements to substantially replicate the target water. Developed for the New York WaterMaker product.

Continuous Water Filtration, Disinfection and Conservation System

A water filtration and disinfection device comprises a water basin having an inlet for receiving water from a source. A sidestream treatment device treats water from the basin using a plurality of filtration and disinfection mechanisms including centrifugal separation, copper/silver ion injection, multi-media filtration, UV disinfection, and ozonation — all without chemicals. Feed and return conduits create a continuous treatment loop.

Alternative Power Generation (APG) System

An Alternative Power Generation (APG) System employs an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) that connects an electric power utility to an electrical load in an 'On-Grid' mode. The ATS can also connect a branch that has renewable power sources to the load to supplement power from the grid. The ATS may also cut off power from the grid and only use power from the renewable power sources in an 'Off-grid' mode. The renewable power sources are solar, wind turbine, biogas electric power generators, as well as a Magternator. A Magternator employs a rotating inertial disk on a shaft with angled rotating magnets that rotates adjacent to a stationary disk having fixed magnets.

Apparatus and Methods for Generating Compost

The present invention provides apparatus and methods for shortening the time needed to convert mixed pulp into unlimited use and relatively odor-free compost down from several weeks to several days, and for producing the compost without the need for a large or remote outdoor area. In addition, the process may be modified so as to improve the quality of the compost so that it is made more suitable for particular soil applications.

Dual Stage Centrifugal Liquid-Solids Separator

Disclosed is a vortex-based centrifugal separator for removing solids from a liquid/solids fluid stream in two stages. A fluid stream under pressure is introduced at the top of the cylindrical separator at a tangential angle forming helical downward flow. The first stage uses a centrally-located spin plate for reversing the cleaner interior flow of the vortex back upward, while the heavier solids settle at the bottom of the chamber for periodic removal. In the second stage, a plurality of louvered slots in an upper discharge pipe remove finer solids from the exiting upward fluid flow prior to discharge.

Sand Filter with Rotating Vanes

A media-based fluid filtration system that extends the time between backwashing operations and prevents the agglomeration of filtered particles at the top of the media bed through the use of a plurality of rotating vanes and associated tines that continuously agitate the upper portion of the filtration media to create a fluidized bed. The fluid stream to be filtered is introduced at the top of a generally cylindrical filtration chamber at a tangential angle to induce a helical flow inside the chamber.

Protection of Downwell Pumps from Sand Entrained in Pumped Fluids

A system for separating particulates from a liquid prior to pumping of the liquid. The system is amenable to use, for example, in a wellbore environment for separating sand or other particulate matter from a production fluid. The system uses a sand separator, a submersible pump and a mechanism for reinjecting the particulate matter downstream of the pump discharge. This permits the sand and other particulates to be routed around the pump to reduce the potentially detrimental effects of such particulate matter on certain pumps.

Removal of Particulates from Frying Oils

A system for use with a hot oil fryer of the type which cooks food products in hot oil, in which particulates from the food are shed into the hot oil during the cooking operation. The system separates and removes particulates from the recirculating hot oil to extend oil life and improve food quality.

Injection of a Solids-Laden Water Stream into a Centrifugal Separator

A centrifugal separator comprising a separation barrel with an upper end, a lower end, and a central axis. Features an annular acceptance chamber with radially spaced axially-extending slots for uniform fluid distribution, a spin plate for vortex reversal, and a collection chamber for settled solids. The design enables efficient injection and separation of solids-laden water streams through controlled helical flow patterns.
